Screen Configuration Panel

The changes you make using this panel apply only to your user ID.

User, Company, and System Information

The top part of the Screen Configuration Panel displays your user ID and Costpoint system into which you are logged.

Field Description
Company The identification code of the company into which you are logged.
System The name of the database Costpoint is currently accessing.
Validation Frequency The validation method Costpoint is currently using.

Application Preferences

This section allows you to select a UI profile to edit. You can customize application layouts, top-level toolbar icons, and My Menu configurations and save them for your user ID and/or a UI profile. You must first launch a screen before you can use these options.

Note: You can only save changes for your user ID if the Allow Saving of Personal Screen Configurations check box is selected on the User Interface tab of the Manage Users screen for your user ID. Otherwise, you cannot save your settings, and the changes you make only apply to your current session and are not retained when you log into Costpoint on future sessions.

Application Layout Changes

Click Save to retain the current application display. For example, you might want a specific subtask to automatically display every time you access a particular application. You can also save the order of the columns for a particular table.

Click Reset to revert to the default settings for this application.

Global Toolbar Icon Options Click Edit to configure the Global Toolbar. You can rearrange the display of function icons, as well as add or remove them. You can also choose whether or not to display function labels for the icons. Your configurations apply for each application type. For example, if you configure the Navigation Toolbar on the Manage Project Billing Information application, that configuration will apply for all Data Entry applications in Costpoint.
Click Reset to return the toolbar display to the default setting.
Color Theme Display a light or dark color theme for Costpoint. Options include:
  • Light: Select this option to display Costpoint screens with dark text on a background with lighter colors.
  • Auto: Select this option to display the color theme your browser uses. For example, if your computer or mobile device is using a dark color theme, Costpoint will use the dark color theme.
  • Dark: Select this option to display Costpoint screens with light text on a dark background.
Auto Positioning On Select the Auto Positioning On check box to resize applications to fully utilize screen space. This setting is on, by default.
Manage User Profiles Select a user interface profile to edit. All the changes you make to this UI profile applies to all the users who are using this UI profile.
Note: You can only save changes for a UI profile if the Allow Screen Configuration Changes for UI Profiles check box is selected on the User Interface tab of the Manage Users screen for your user ID.
Configure User Preferences Click the Configure User Preferences link at the bottom of the window to modify the contents of My Menu on the Configure User Preferences screen.
