Employer Accrual Tab

Use the Employee Accrual tab on the Manage Employee Earnings History screen to manage employer's liability for federal unemployment taxes and FICA taxes.

FICA Taxes

Use the FICA Taxes group box to manage employer's portion of social security and Medicare.

Social Security

Field Description
Exempt Pay Types This field displays the portion of the employee's pay that was exempt from employer social security taxable wages. A pay type's social security taxability is established on the Configure Pay Type Taxability screen.
Exempt Deductions This field shows the total deduction amount that was exempt from employer social security taxable wages. A deduction's social security taxability is established on the Manage Deductions screen.
Taxable Wages This field shows the net of Gross less the Employer Social Security Exempt Pay Type amount and the Employer Social Security Exempt Deduction amount.
Accrued Expense This field displays the employer expense accrued for social security.

Medicare

Field Description
Exempt Pay Types This field shows the portion of the employee's pay that was exempt from employer Medicare taxable wages. A pay type's Medicare taxability is established on the Configure Pay Type Taxability screen.
Exempt Deductions This field shows the total deduction amount that was exempt from employer Medicare taxable wages. A deduction's Medicare taxability is established on the Manage Deductions screen.
Taxable Wages Enter the amount for the employer portion of Medicare taxable wages.
Accrued Expense This field displays the employer expense accrued for Medicare.

FUTA

Field Description
Exempt Pay Types

This field displays the portion of the employee's pay that was exempt from employer FUTA taxable wages. A pay type's FUTA taxability is established on the Configure Pay Type Taxability screen.

Exempt Deductions

This field displays the total deduction amount that was exempt from FUTA taxable wages. A deduction's FUTA taxability is established on the Manage Deductions screen.

Subject Wages

This field displays wages that are subject to FUTA. This is not necessarily the FUTA taxable wages since the U.S. federal government imposes a limit on the amount of wages which can be FUTA taxable. This field is calculated by subtracting the FUTA Exempt Pay Types amount and the FUTA Exempt Deductions amount from the Gross Amount.

Excess Wages This field displays the portion of wages that are subject to FUTA, but are in excess of the FUTA Wage Limit. This field is calculated by subtracting the FUTA Wage Limit from the FUTA Subject Wages.
Taxable Wages

Enter the taxable FUTA wages.

Rate This field displays the FUTA rate.
Accrued Expense

Enter the accrued FUTA expense.
