Contents of the Maintain Generic Staff Screen

Use this screen to view records, create new records or copy from the generic staff list. You can also determine whether the resource is shared and active in this screen.

Note: This screen is only accessible to administrators.

The Maintain Generic Staff screen allows you to establish generic job categories that are useful when you assign people that you do not already have on staff. It also enables you to reflect future growth in the company. It is important to populate this data before Costpoint Planning users begin creating budgets.

Columns

The table below describes the columns that display for the Maintain Generic Staff table.

Column Headings Description
Job Code This column displays the Job Code.
Job Description This column displays the Job Description.
Hourly Average This column displays the Hourly Average.
Accrual Rate This column displays the number of PTO hours per year.
Active This column is checked if the resource is active.
Shared This column is checked if the resource is shared.
Default Acct ID This column displays the Default Acct ID.
Default PLC This column displays the Default PLC.
Home Organization ID This column displays the Home Organization ID.
Security Organization ID Use this column to select the Security Organization ID.

Generic Staff Use Subtask

You can now view all projects under a specific generic staff and all the generic staff usage. This grid prevents users from editing values (except for the accrual rate) for generic staff that are in use.

This grid contains the following information:

  • Generic Staff
  • Name
  • Type
  • ID
  • Version
  • Pool Org ID
  • Account

The following buttons also display in the form.

Buttons Description
New Click this button to create a new record for project level reporting. A new row is added to the table where you can assign the corresponding user access to projects by entering the required information like Project ID, Project Name and User ID. Click Save to finalize the new record.
Copy Click this button to do any of the following:
  • Copy Record: Copy and immediately paste the current row.
  • Copy Data to insert into Excel: Copy selected row into the clipboard for pasting into Excel or other program.
  • Copy Data to paste into new records: Copy selected row into internal buffer so they can be pasted later.
Delete Click this button to remove the selected row and delete the access rights to projects assigned to the user.
Form Click this button to switch from Table view to Form view.
Query Click this button to launch a query.
