Contents of the Manage Distribution Spread Methods Screen

Use the fields and options to configure the Manage Distribution Spread Methods screen.

Columns

The table below describes the columns that display on the Manage Distribution Spread Methods screen.
Note: You can also use this screen to create custom spread methods by clicking New to add a row to the table and then setting the spread percentages for it. The custom method becomes available to users after you select Yes from Active.
Column Headings Description
Distribution Method

This column displays the name of the distribution method.

The available options include:

  • Backload:: This method allocates most of the hours toward the end of the budgeting period.
  • Bell: This method allocates allocates minimal hours at the beginning, and then gradually increases in the middle and tapers off at the end.
  • Double Peak: This method allocates most of the hours in two peaks, one near the beginning and one near the end.
  • Early Peak: This method allocates most of the hours at the beginning.
  • First Period: This method allocates all the hours to the first period.
  • Front Load: This method allocates most of the hours at the beginning.
  • Last Period: This method allocates all of the hours to the last period.
  • Late Peak: This method allocates most of the hours at the end.
  • Evenly (Linear): This method distributes hours or amounts evenly across all periods.
  • Percent of Available Hours : With this method, the calculation per period is based on a percentage of the total number of working hours that are available for the entire period of performance (PoP).
Active For each method that you want to activate, select Yes, or leave No selected to leave the method inactive.
Spread Point 1-10 These columns are read-only for standard methods, but you can set them for custom ones. They represent percentages of how hours or amounts will be spread across the budget periods. All values add up to 100 percent.
