Contents of the Configure Life Events Screen
Use the fields and options to configure the Configure Life Events Screen.
Identification
Field | Description |

Life Event |
Enter, or click
The description associated with the selected Life Event displays in the field to the right. |
Requires Approval |
Select this check box to indicate that the record must be approved in the Approve Employee Life Events screen before the life event can be inserted into the Employee Life Events table and before the employee can go through the life event's user flow. |
New Hire |
Select this check box to indicate that the Life Event represents a new hire event and a benefit plan's eligibility rules must be used to determine the benefit start date. If you do not select this check box, the benefit start date for any benefits elected as a result of the Life Event is not be subject to the benefit plan's eligibility rules. |
Instructions |
Use this text box to enter free-form alphanumeric text that pertains to the Life Event record in this screen. When an employee selects the life event in the Life Events/New Hires module in ESS, the instructions specified here are displayed. |
ESS User Flow
Use this group box to assign ESS modules to the Life Event code by either adding individual lines or clicking the Autoload ESS Module button. Employees whose records are assigned this Life Event code are allowed to change their life event information in ESS if the settings in this screen apply.
