Contents of the Profit and Loss by Organization Screen

Use this screen to display organization expenses, organization budget, or budget variances, in profit and loss format by Organization.

The report presents history in a way that allows managers to recognize trends throughout the year.

Note: You must provide information for all enabled fields in order for the report to run as expected, else an error message displays.

Field Description
Report Type

Select the type of report you want to display. Choose from the following options:

  • Cost: Select this option to display revenue and expenses.
  • Budget: Select this option to display budgeted revenue and expenses.
  • Variance: Select this option to display variances of budgeted revenue and expenses.
Organization Type

If you selected a Report Type of Cost or Variance, choose from the following Organization Types:

  • P&L: Select this option to filter the Organization Type according to Profit and Loss.
  • Owning Org: Select this option to filter the Organization Type according to Owning Organization.
  • Employee Org: Select this option to filter the Organization Type. according to Employee Organization.
Note: These options are not enabled if you selected Budget as the Report Type.
Organization Source

If you selected a Report Type of Budget, choose from the following Revenue and Cost options:

  • Owning Org: Select this option to filter the revenue source according to Owning Organization budget.
  • Performing Org: Select this option to filter the revenue source according to Performing Organization budget. Performing organization is the organization that is primarily carrying out the project work and is responsible for the project management activities.
FY

Click to select the fiscal year.

End Date

Click to select the end date.

Budget Group

For the Budget or Variance report types, click to select the Budget Group. Select either the base budget or latest updated forecasts.

FS Code

Click to select the accounts you want to display. Options include either All Accounts or other options specific to your company.

Details

Choose the level of detail you want to display. Choose from the following options:

  • Combined: Select this option to combine all levels of report information for viewing or printing.
  • Qtrs: Select this option to display report information by quarter.
  • Summary: Select this option to display report information summary.
Report By

Use the drop-down menu to run the report by Organization or by Reorganization.

Org ID

Click to select the organization ID. The name of the organization displays in the next field.

Subtasks

Click Details to display lower level  information.

The following information is displayed in the Details grid.

Column Headings Description
Description This column provides detailed description of the Type or Organization.
Summary This column displays the summary details.
YTD This column displays the profit and loss details by Year to Date.
Beg Balance This column displays the Beginning Balance per period.
Months This column displays the month or period details.
